Peanut Festival
The Peanut Festival celebrates well-known crop and community

The Central Florida Peanut Festival takes place the first Saturday of October each year in Williston's Linear Park. Organizers say this Williston tradition celebrates all things nutty. Rides, crafts, music, information booths and the Little Peanut royal family. Make no mistake there are always LOTS of peanuts. The festival is truly everything peanuts - from crafts oriented to the nut to countless bags of the area's prized crop to feast on to the crowning of Little Peanut King and Queen and Baby Peanut.

Only children ages 3 to 6 can compete to be the Little Peanut King and Queen. The Baby Peanut contestants are infants and toddlers up to age 2.

The event also features live music, food, arts, crafts and children's rides. The peanuts come in all varieties - roasted, boiled, fried and baked. The festival, which annually draws more than 9,000 people from as far south as Key West to Georgia and Alabama, is a family-oriented event. The revenue generated from this goes right back into the community. The bonus is that visitors who come here for the festival have the opportunity to really see what a beautiful city Williston is.
